The Luck Formula

Sol's RNG calculates every roll using this formula:

Final Luck = (((1 + Basic Luck) × Bonus Roll Multiplier) + Special Luck) × VIP Multiplier

Basic Luck comes from equipped gear (gauntlets, devices). Bonus Roll Multiplier includes the every-10th-roll 2× bonus (6× with Gravitational Gauntlet). Special Luck covers potions, biome buffs, Grail of Resonance, and talismans. VIP Multiplier applies if you own VIP or VIP+ gamepasses.

Stacking Order

Understanding stacking order explains why a Heavenly Potion can still produce a Common:

  1. Gear provides the base Basic Luck layer
  2. Potions add to Special Luck (not multiplicative with gear in all cases)
  3. Biome resonance and weather add conditional Special Luck
  4. The roll algorithm uses list-value selection, not pure multiplication
  5. Even with massive luck, ultra-rare auras have floor probabilities

A 1 in 3,000,000,000 aura like MONARCH requires both extreme luck stacking AND correct biome conditions — luck alone is never sufficient.

Optimization Tips

  • Stack Fortune III (+250% for 10 min) for sustained sessions, not single rolls
  • Save Heavenly I/II for one-shot attempts at GLITCHED or DREAMSPACE exclusives
  • Equip Gravitational Gauntlet (left hand) for 6× every-10th-roll bonus
  • Activate Grail of Resonance with biome items before long hunts
  • VIP+ provides a higher multiplier — calculate whether the Robux cost is worth it for your play style

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did Heavenly Potion give me a Common?

Heavenly adds massive Special Luck for one roll, but the list-value algorithm still weights all auras in the pool. Ultra-rare auras need correct biome conditions in addition to luck.

What is the best luck gear?

Genesis Drive (T-10) provides +1200% Basic Luck. Pair with Gravitational Gauntlet on the left hand for maximum bonus roll multiplier.
